About the exam

One exam, every pharmacist grade

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties runs a single pharmacist licensing examination. Trainee, Pharmacist, Senior Pharmacist and Consultant are classification outcomes — they are not separate papers. Pass the SPLE once and your grade follows from your qualifications and experience, not from a different exam.

It is taken by internationally-educated pharmacists applying to practise in the Kingdom, by Saudi graduates and Imtiyaz-year interns for professional classification, and by final-year students, who may sit it a year before graduating. Registration runs through Mumaris+, and the test itself is delivered at Prometric centres inside Saudi Arabia and abroad.

Scoring

536 out of 800 — and nobody outside SCFHS can convert it

SCFHS reports the SPLE on a scaled range of 200 to 800 and sets the pass mark at 536. That scale is not a percentage, and the commission publishes no table converting raw marks into scaled ones. Which means a simple thing that the prep market mostly ignores: any product promising you a predicted 536 is inventing the number.

Myndaq does not do that. After the full mock you get percentage correct, a breakdown across the four blueprint domains, and a readiness band. That is the same information, minus the fiction — and it is the part you can act on, because it tells you which domain to revise next.

Marking itself is straightforward: one mark per correct answer, nothing subtracted for a wrong one. There is no penalty for guessing, so leave nothing blank.

What Myndaq reports
80%+Strong across the blueprint — comfortably ready.
70–79%On track; tighten the weakest domain before booking.
60–69%Borderline — target the two lowest domains.
Below 60%More revision needed across several domains.

Bands describe your performance on Myndaq practice. They are not a prediction of the SCFHS scaled score, and no honest product can give you one.

The paper

What the four blueprint domains actually contain

Clinical Sciences

35%

Pharmacotherapy across the organ systems — cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine and diabetes, infectious disease, gastro and renal, CNS, pain and psychiatry — plus special-population dosing, patient assessment and lab values, OTC and self-care, and counselling.

Pharmaceutical Sciences

35%

Medicinal chemistry, drug classes and mechanisms, adverse effects and interactions, toxicology, pharmacognosy, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, dosage forms and formulation, stability and biopharmaceutics, dosage and IV calculations, dilutions and compounding, and sterile technique.

Social & Administrative

20%

Saudi pharmacy law and regulation, professional ethics and SCFHS classification, the Saudi health system and Vision 2030 reforms, public health and immunisation, pharmacoeconomics, dispensing and informatics, medication safety and error prevention.

Basic Biomedical

10%

Physiology and pathophysiology, biochemistry, microbiology and immunology, and the genetics and pharmacogenomics that underpin the clinical material.

Clinical and Pharmaceutical Sciences are 70% of the paper between them. That is where the preparation time belongs — but the 20% Social and Administrative block is the one internationally-educated pharmacists most often lose marks on, because it is specific to Saudi Arabia and cannot be revised from a general pharmacy textbook.

Practice

Original questions, written against the blueprint

Every item is an original single-best-answer question with four options and one defensible key — not a recalled exam question, and not a scraped question bank. Drug and clinical material is anchored to the standard references the blueprint draws on; the Saudi law, ethics, health-system and immunisation material is written against primary Saudi sources rather than adapted from another country’s rules.

You can practise a single topic, a whole domain, or sit the complete 200-question mock in two timed parts with the break — exactly as the real exam runs.

AI tutor

Ask in Arabic. Get the answer in Arabic.

The SPLE is sat by a workforce that is more than half internationally-educated, and the pharmacy references behind the blueprint are in English. So the question bank is in English — but the tutor is not limited to it. Ask why an answer is right in Arabic and the explanation comes back in Arabic, on the same question, without switching product. This page has a full Arabic version too.

Know which domain is costing you marks

A single overall percentage tells you almost nothing when the blueprint is weighted 35 / 35 / 20 / 10. Myndaq scores every attempt against the four official domains and the topics inside them, so a weak spot shows up as a domain, not a feeling — and you can see whether the gap is in pharmacotherapy, in calculations, or in the Saudi-specific law and health-system material.

Domain-weighted view

Your percentage per blueprint domain, next to that domain’s share of the real paper.

Topic-level weak areas

Down to the topic, so “calculations” resolves into IV rates, dilutions or paediatric dosing.

Pacing, per part

100 questions in 120 minutes is about 72 seconds each. The mock shows where you drifted.

Readiness band

An honest band from your performance — never an invented 200–800 prediction.

Why Myndaq

Why Myndaq for the SPLE

The real two-part day

Two 100-question parts, 120 minutes each, with the scheduled 30-minute break — and Part 1 closed once you move on, as on the day.

Saudi material from Saudi sources

Law, ethics, health system and immunisation questions are written against Saudi primary documents — not another country’s rules with the names swapped.

An explanation on every question

Not just the key: why the key is right, why each distractor is wrong, and a tutor you can keep asking — in English or Arabic.

No invented score prediction

SCFHS publishes no raw-to-scaled conversion, so we publish none either. You get percentage correct and a readiness band.

Original items, stated plainly

Written for this course against the published blueprint. We do not sell recalled questions, and we do not pretend to have them.

In the browser, on any device

Nothing to install. Practise on a phone between shifts and sit the full mock on a laptop.

How it works

Three steps to a booked test date

1

Find the gaps

Sit the free full mock first. Two parts, the real break, a domain-by-domain result. You now know where you stand instead of guessing.

2

Close them

Drill the weakest domains topic by topic, with the tutor explaining every answer you get wrong — and every one you got right for the wrong reason.

3

Book with evidence

Re-sit the mock. When no domain is dragging and your pacing holds across both parts, book the SCFHS window — on evidence, not on hope.

FAQ

SPLE questions, answered

How long is the SPLE, really?

Four hours of testing time — two parts of 120 minutes — plus a scheduled 30-minute break between them, so budget four and a half hours at the centre before check-in and seating.

Is there negative marking?

No. Correct answers earn a mark and wrong ones cost nothing, so there is no reason to leave a question blank. Answer everything, and flag the ones you want to revisit inside the same part.

Can I sit it before I graduate?

Final-year pharmacy students may sit the exam up to a year before graduation, alongside graduates and Imtiyaz-year interns. Registration runs through Mumaris+, and SCFHS charges SAR 120 for the eligibility service.

Why sit it again after passing?

Because the score matters for residency selection. SCFHS allows two further attempts after a pass purely to improve the mark. If you are aiming at a training programme, the pass is the floor, not the goal.

Are these real exam questions?

No, and you should be wary of anyone claiming otherwise. Every Myndaq item is an original question written against the published blueprint. Myndaq is independent and is not affiliated with SCFHS, the SFDA, the Ministry of Health or Prometric.

Is the material available in Arabic?

The question bank is in English, matching the pharmacy references the blueprint draws on, but the AI tutor explains any answer in Arabic — and this page has a full Arabic version at /exam/saudi_pharmacist/ar.

FAQ

Saudi Pharmacist Licence (SPLE) — common questions

What score do I need to pass the SPLE?

SCFHS reports the SPLE on a scaled range of 200 to 800, and the pass score is 536. That scale is not a percentage: the commission publishes no table converting raw marks into scaled ones, so nobody outside SCFHS can tell you how many of the 200 questions 536 corresponds to. Judge your readiness on percentage correct per blueprint domain instead.

How is the exam day structured?

Two parts of 100 questions, each with 120 minutes of testing time, and a scheduled 30-minute break between them. Every question is a four-option single-best-answer MCQ. Up to 10% of the 200 are unscored pilot items, and you are not told which. Plan the pacing around roughly 72 seconds per question in each part.

How many times can I sit the SPLE?

The current SCFHS applicant guide states that eligible candidates may take the exam up to four times a year until they pass, and that after passing they may sit it twice more to improve the score, which matters for residency selection. Attempt rules have changed between guide editions, so confirm the current rule with SCFHS before booking.

What does the SPLE blueprint actually cover?

Four domains with fixed weights. Basic Biomedical Sciences (10%) is physiology, biochemistry, microbiology and genetics. Pharmaceutical Sciences (35%) runs from medicinal chemistry and pharmacokinetics to dosage forms, calculations and sterile compounding. Social, Behavioral and Administrative Sciences (20%) covers Saudi pharmacy law, ethics, the health system and public health. Clinical Sciences (35%) is pharmacotherapy across the organ systems.

Does Myndaq predict my scaled score?

No. Because SCFHS publishes no raw-to-scaled conversion, any predicted 200–800 figure would be invented. The Myndaq mock reports percentage correct, a breakdown by blueprint domain, and a readiness band. That is the honest version of the same information, and it is the part you can actually act on.

Is Myndaq affiliated with SCFHS, the SFDA or Prometric?

No. Myndaq is independent exam-preparation material and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Ministry of Health or Prometric. Every question is an original study item written against the published blueprint — none are real exam questions.

Is the exam in English?

The SCFHS applicant guide does not state a language requirement explicitly. Myndaq’s question bank is in English, which is the language of the standard pharmacy references the blueprint draws on, and the AI tutor can explain any answer in Arabic. Confirm current arrangements with SCFHS.

What does the Myndaq Saudi Pharmacist Licence (SPLE) course include?

Practice across Clinical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Social & Administrative, Basic Biomedical with an AI tutor that explains every answer, plus progress analytics and full-length timed mock tests.

Is there a free Saudi Pharmacist Licence (SPLE) mock test?

Myndaq runs a free mock test programme. Availability varies by exam and publication status — check the free mock tests page. One attempt per account, for one eligible exam; sign in with Google or an email link, no payment card required. See free mock tests
