Before you open a question bank or the Myndaq Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Exam course, it helps to know exactly what the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) asks of you, and what it charges, to get into the exam hall. This page sets out who may sit the SPLE, the fees SCFHS publishes and the one it does not, the two official statements on attempts, and the Mumaris+ steps from request to results. The exam itself, its format and its 536 pass score are covered in the SPLE exam guide.
Figures below are as published on the SCFHS pages linked at the end on 16 September 2026; recheck them before you pay.
Who is eligible to sit the SPLE
The SCFHS SPLE applicant guide (an undated PDF uploaded to the SCFHS site in September 2025, according to its file path) sets one eligibility test. You may apply if you have a recognised primary degree from an accredited health science programme, if you have commenced training in your internship year, or if you are a student who is one year away from graduation.
Two details sharpen that:
- Final-year students. The guide's notes say Saudi university and college students can sit the SPLE in their final undergraduate year. Students abroad should confirm before applying.
- Interns and practitioners. The SCFHS eligibility service page lists "Intern" as its beneficiary category, and states that you must be registered in Mumaris+ as an Imtiyaz Year intern or a practitioner.
The applicant guide adds no experience requirement for sitting the exam. Experience matters later, at classification: the SCFHS classification requirements say experience must not be below one year for non-Saudis, except graduates of Saudi universities, and that Saudis need no experience provided they have not stopped practising for more than two years.
What the SPLE costs - the published fees
The eligibility service - SAR 120
The only exam-related amount we found on SCFHS pages is for the "Professional Practice Licensure Exams Eligibility" service, which SCFHS describes as the electronic service for registering in its licensure exams, including the SPLE, to obtain or improve a passing grade. As published on 16 September 2026:
- Fee: SAR 120
- Service duration: 5 business days
- Payment: through the Sadad system
- Channel: the Mumaris+ platform
The exam sitting fee - not published by SCFHS
We found no separate SPLE sitting fee on any SCFHS page or in the applicant guide, so this page quotes none. Pay only the amount Mumaris+ shows you at checkout, and if it differs from SAR 120, ask SCFHS (920019393) what it covers before paying.
The guide also mentions a rescheduling fee: a candidate who arrives without the scheduling permit or acceptable identification is refused entry and must pay a fee to reschedule. The amount is not stated in the guide.
Classification and registration fees for pharmacists
Passing the exam is not the last payment. The SCFHS fee schedule, an undated PDF uploaded to the SCFHS site in February 2022 (according to its file path), lists classification fees as two payments, an administrative fee and a service fee, the same for the direct decision, evaluation and examination routes:
- Trainee Pharmacist - 200 administrative + 900 service = 1,100
- Pharmacist - 200 administrative + 900 service = 1,100
- Senior Pharmacist - 200 administrative + 900 service = 1,100
- Consultant Pharmacist - 200 administrative + 1,300 service = 1,500
The same schedule prices registration for one year, in a single payment:
- Trainee Pharmacist - 50 + 70 = 120
- Pharmacist - 50 + 70 = 120
- Senior Pharmacist - 50 + 110 = 160
- Consultant Pharmacist - 50 + 150 = 200
The PDF prints amounts without a currency sign; SCFHS service pages quote fees in Saudi riyals. As the file was posted in 2022, confirm the figure Mumaris+ displays. The schedule lists no verification fee, and the approved verification company's cost is not published on the SCFHS pages linked here. The grades themselves are explained in the SCFHS classification and Mumaris+ guide.
Attempt limits - two official statements
SCFHS words the attempt rules differently in two places.
The SPLE applicant guide says:
- All eligible candidates may take the SPLE up to four times a year, "starting from the first attempt to obtain a pass score".
- After passing, each candidate may make two further attempts to improve the mark, for a better chance in residency selection.
- You may not sit twice in the same testing window. If you do, the first result is announced and the second counts as an attempt with an invalid result.
- Arriving more than 30 minutes late, or not arriving, also counts as an attempt unless the supervising committee accepts a documented reason.
The SCFHS licensure exams page sets out an "attempt calculation mechanism" for all its professional practice licensure exams:
- If the first attempt is passed, two improvement attempts are granted.
- If the first attempt is not passed, two additional attempts are granted.
- After a fail, the exam opportunities may be repeated one year from the date of the first attempt.
- The annual improvement attempt can be submitted once per training year, provided the professional classification and registration requirements are met.
Check your remaining attempts in Mumaris+ or with SCFHS before booking. The guide makes scheduling your responsibility; SCFHS is not responsible if you leave attempts to year end and find no seat.
Step by step - from Mumaris+ to results
Step 1 - Open your Mumaris+ account
Mumaris+ is the SCFHS platform through which the eligibility service is requested. Because the name on your scheduling permit must match your identification exactly, enter it exactly as it appears on the ID you will bring on test day.
Step 2 - Request the licensure exam eligibility service
The SCFHS service page lists six steps: log in to Mumaris+, select the service, enter the application details, pay the fee, follow the application status, and receive the final decision. The page's "Required Documents" section is empty as of 16 September 2026. Separately, the page states that the applicant must be "Registered in Mumaris+ as Imtiyaz Year Intern or Practitioner". When you apply you must also confirm you have read the applicant guide.
Step 3 - Receive the scheduling permit
Once the application is processed, SCFHS issues a scheduling permit showing your eligibility period, and emails you instructions for accessing it. Any rescheduled test date must also fall inside that period.
Step 4 - Book a seat with Prometric
With the permit you schedule the test on the Prometric site. The guide says scheduling may not open more than three months ahead, and you can test at any SCFHS-approved Prometric centre, in Saudi Arabia or abroad. SCFHS approves a series of testing periods across the year, each with its own registration period that closes before the testing period opens, and it notes that registration dates are subject to updates. The periods open at any given time are listed on the SCFHS licensure exam dates page in Official sources. Prometric states that neither it nor SCFHS reimburses flights or hotels if an exam is cancelled for technical or operational reasons.
Step 5 - Test day
SCFHS test centres open at 7:30 a.m. Bring the scheduling permit, on paper or on your phone, and acceptable identification: the guide accepts a passport, or a national/residence identity card (marked "KSA Only" in the guide).
Step 6 - Results
Results are not instant. The guide says they are announced within two to six weeks of the end of the test window, and every candidate receives two reports: a statement of results and a feedback report comparing performance with other test takers. Documents and DataFlow
The applicant guide does not list document verification as a condition for sitting the SPLE; it becomes essential at classification. The SCFHS classification requirements ask for a verification result, issued by the verification company SCFHS approves, for qualifications issued outside the Kingdom (the bachelor's certificate if you apply on a bachelor's degree, or only the higher degrees if you apply on a postgraduate degree). Qualifications obtained by Saudis outside the Kingdom and equalised by the Ministry of Education, and recognised qualifications issued by academic and professional entities inside the Kingdom, are listed as exempt.
The SCFHS Mumaris FAQ refers to that verification report as the Dataflow report. Asked whether an applicant can apply for classification and attach a delayed Dataflow final report later, the FAQ answers: "You can refer to Dataflow Company, where it is necessary to attach the final report for authentication." So start verification while you prepare, not after you pass.
The same FAQ lists the classification documents:
- a copy of the qualification to be classified, the internship certificate and the academic record
- a clinical training completion certificate, for qualifications that contain training
- a Ministry of Education equivalence for certificates issued outside the Kingdom
- a licence or professional registration, or an experience certificate
- for non-Saudis, qualification, experience, registration and licensing certificates from the country of origin, authenticated by the accredited company
- a national ID for Saudis or a passport for non-Saudis
- a medical report for applicants over 65, from an entity other than the employer
For classification through the exam route, the FAQ gives a service level of 30 working days, against 7 for a direct decision and 35 for practical evaluation.
