UAE Pharmacist Licence Fees and Eligibility - DHA, DoH and MOHAP

A pharmacist moving to the UAE pays several separate charges before the first shift: an authority review, primary source verification (PSV), the licensing exam and the licence. This page collects the pharmacist fees and eligibility rules DHA (Dubai), DoH (Abu Dhabi) and MOHAP published as checked on 16 September 2026, and sets out each route. The Myndaq UAE Pharmacist course follows the exam format DHA publishes for the Pharmacist CBT. DHA publishes an exam coverage list and a reference book list for each pharmacy title in its CBT guideline, but no authority publishes a weighted syllabus, and MOHAP provides no study references.

Who is eligible - the shared baseline

All three authorities apply the Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), now in its third version. For the Pharmacist title, the pharmacy table and general chapters require:

• Qualification - a BSc in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy.
• Experience - two years after qualification in a related field. Experience with pharmaceutical companies or as a sales representative is not accepted.
• Registration - a valid licence or registration from your home country or country of last employment, covering the minimum experience period.
• Good standing - a Good Standing Certificate not older than six months when you apply, issued by the regulator in the country of last employment (or officially by the last employer where no regulator exists).
• Exam attempts - three attempts across the authorities, with one possible final attempt at a different authority after three failures. You must declare earlier attempts.

Gaps in practice

The PQR requires remediation once a gap exceeds three years. For pharmacists, a gap of three to under four years needs 20 CME/CPD credits and six months of training; four to under five years needs 30 credits and eight months. Non-UAE nationals generally cannot apply after a gap of more than five years. Apart from UAE nationals and children of Emirati women, applicants completing these gap requirements must still pass the licensure exam. All three authorities work to a tighter figure. DHA's licensing manual defines discontinuity of practice as an interruption of clinical practice exceeding two years; DoH's allied-health licensing page says your last day of experience must not be more than two years old when you apply; and MOHAP's evaluation and pharmacist-licensing pages say the interruption must not exceed two years.

DHA (Dubai) - fees and route

What DHA publishes

• Self-assessment tool - no charge, and its result is preliminary pending DHA review.
• Review Registration Eligibility (only if the tool says not eligible) - credentialing fee AED 200 plus Knowledge and Innovation fees at checkout; average 10 working days.
• Get Registered - credentialing fee AED 200 plus the same checkout fees; average five working days.
• Pharmacist CBT (code PHO5481) - US$240. 150 MCQs, three hours that include on-screen registration and the process introduction as well as the exam content, pass score 60%. Prometric requires you to arrive 30 minutes before the appointment for check-in, which is on top of the three hours.
• Clinical Pharmacy CBT (code PHO5482) - US$240. 150 MCQs, three hours, pass score 70%.
• Pharmacy Technician CBT (code PHT5451) - US$240. 150 MCQs, three hours, pass score 55%.
• PSV - DHA delegates PSV to a third-party professional verification agency (DataFlow). DHA's Sheryan FAQ gives 15 working days from payment for a new report, five for a transfer, and an AED 300 fee to link DataFlow reports issued by other authorities. The FAQ points to a DHA fee page that it says lists the PSV process fees, but that page is currently unavailable, so take the new-report amount from the DataFlow checkout.

DHA's published CBT guideline says DHA may change an exam's format or pass score without updating the document.

Registration steps

1. Create a Sheryan account and run the self-assessment tool. Apply for Review Registration Eligibility if the result is not eligible.
2. Copy your DHA Unique ID and generate the Eligibility ID Prometric needs to book.
3. Submit documents for PSV. DHA allows PSV and the CBT to run at the same time.
4. Book the CBT through prometric.com/DHA and pay by American Express, MasterCard or Visa. The result is uploaded to Sheryan within two working days.
5. Submit Get Registered once the PSV report is complete and the CBT is passed.
6. A DHA-licensed facility activates the registration into a licence. Registration is valid for one year; a licence renews for one, two or three years.

Rescheduling, refunds and attempts

• Reschedule or cancel on the Prometric website at least five calendar days before the exam; Prometric charges a centre-specific fee to change an appointment.
• Exam fees are non-refundable, including for rescheduling, cancellation and no-shows; a cancellation or no-show does not count as a failed attempt.
• Bring a passport matching your Sheryan details; if the names differ, contact DHA at least five days before the exam.
• DHA sets no waiting period between attempts. A third failure blocks a new DHA application for two years; a fourth DHA attempt may be allowed if you declare that you have not failed with another UAE authority.

DoH (Abu Dhabi) - fees and route

DoH prints its amounts in the Licensing Procedure Manual issued with Circular 151/2024. TAMM shows the amount you actually pay.

What DoH publishes

• PSV package - AED 1,260 for general physicians and dentists, AED 1,680 for specialists and consultants, and AED 990 for other categories. The process time-frame is 24 working days.
• New registration application - AED 100. DoH review takes five working days.
• CBT booking - AED 100 per attempt for physicians, dentists and pharmacists (AED 50 for other categories), paid in TAMM.
• Pearson VUE scheduling - AED 450, 470 or 490 per attempt, depending on title.
• Pharmacist CBT in the allied-health table - AED 550, with 50 to 100 MCQs in 1 to 2 hours.
• Licence issuance - the allied-health page lists AED 500 for a Pharmacist licence (AED 300 for most allied titles, AED 250 for Pharmacy Technician), valid for two years. Re-registration shows AED 300 for one year and AED 500 for two, with AED 100 added to two-year amounts as an application fee. Malpractice insurance may also apply.

Registration steps

1. Create a TAMM account through UAE PASS.
2. Complete PSV for your passport, degree certificates, transcript, experience letters, licence and a Good Standing Certificate under six months old.
3. Submit the new-registration application in TAMM with a photo and, if you have one, a nomination or offer letter.
4. After credentialing approval, pay the booking fee in TAMM and receive a Pearson VUE authorisation. Then choose a centre and date and pay the scheduling fee.
5. If you were not linked to a facility at the start, link to one within three months or the application expires.
6. Security clearance takes five working days, and the licence is issued on payment.

Exam rules

• The exam step is valid for six months from credentialing approval. If you have not passed by then, the application closes and you must apply again.
• Results appear as Pass or Fail in TAMM within 24 hours.
• You cannot book if you have failed the same title more than three times across UAE authorities.

MOHAP - fees and route

MOHAP separates a professional evaluation, which you apply for, from the pharmacist licence, which the facility requests.

What MOHAP publishes

• Evaluation - fees appear only once you customise the service for your profession. After approval you pay a DataFlow verification fee, also unpublished.
• Prometric exam - the evaluation pages do not print the exam fee. Check it in the evaluation system before paying.
• Pharmacist licence - application fee AED 100 and a fee of AED 1,000 for the licence to practise pharmacy. The service takes five working days.

Eligibility and steps

1. Review the PQR, log in with UAE PASS and submit the evaluation with your qualifications, experience, the licence covering it, a good-conduct certificate, your passport and any previous DataFlow reports or exemption documents.
2. Pay the evaluation fee. MOHAP approves within five working days and sends a link to pay the DataFlow certificate verification fee.
3. Pay the DataFlow fee. MOHAP then moves you to the scheduled test, or to an exemption if you supplied those documents.
4. Sit the Prometric exam if the evaluation officer requires one. The pass mark is 60%, the result is Pass or Fail and cannot be appealed, and MOHAP allows three attempts and no fourth. The evaluation certificate is then issued. MOHAP's pharmacist-licensing page says the assessment certificate is valid for five years.
5. The facility applies for your licence as first official pharmacist, second official pharmacist or assistant pharmacist. That page asks for at least two years of experience and no gap longer than two years.

Building a realistic budget

No authority publishes an all-in figure, and several items are missing: DHA's new-report PSV amount and checkout fees, and MOHAP's evaluation, DataFlow and exam amounts. Work in this order:

1. Choose the authority from your target facility, using the DHA vs DoH vs MOHAP comparison.
2. List the published fixed items above for that authority and your exact title.
3. Take the PSV amount from the checkout. The DataFlow verification guide covers documents, report transfers and appeals.
4. Keep a buffer for a rescheduled or repeated exam, because exam fees are not refunded.
