The GMAT, line by line
The GMAT Focus Edition is the current Graduate Management Admission Test, owned and administered by GMAC and accepted by business schools worldwide for MBA and specialized-masters admissions. Introduced in early 2024 (the classic GMAT is retired), it is a shorter, three-section, section-adaptive exam of 64 questions in about 2 hours 15 minutes. Its headline change is the Data Insights section - a dedicated test of data literacy that folds in Data Sufficiency and adds Multi-Source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation and Two-Part Analysis. Quantitative Reasoning is now Problem Solving only (no geometry), and Verbal Reasoning drops Sentence Correction.

What the exam demands
Three equally weighted 45-minute sections in a test-taker-chosen order. Quantitative Reasoning: 21 Problem Solving questions across arithmetic, number properties, algebra and word problems (no geometry, no Data Sufficiency). Verbal Reasoning: 23 questions of Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning (no Sentence Correction). Data Insights: 20 questions spanning Data Sufficiency, Multi-Source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation and Two-Part Analysis, with an on-screen calculator. Each section is question-level adaptive; you may bookmark questions and review/edit up to three answers per section.

- Practise Critical Reasoning by question type - separate assumption, strengthen/weaken, inference and evaluate/paradox until the logic is automatic.
- Read dense business and science passages daily and pre-map structure before answering Reading Comprehension questions.
